At Hadley Design “Place Making” is defined as “the integration of humanity and nature within the construct of the built environment”. We believe in partnering with our clients, and through a comprehensive and holistic design process, deliver designs that achieve our client’s goals and objectives. Our designers utilize a process of evaluation, visualization and integration to create comprehensive, unique and timeless designs. Hadley Design continues to work with our clients and development teams through the implementation of each design to insure that the vision reaches fruition. Evaluation includes establishment of our client’s goals and objectives and an evaluation of the project site. Visualization includes the creating of a visual vocabulary of design elements, including plant materials, hardscape elements, water elements and structures, as well as conceptual designs through sketches, 3D modeling and imagery. Integration involves integrating the design elements and concepts with the surrounding environment both existing and proposed. The process elements are often implemented through a design “charette” during which we engage our clients and/or stakeholders in order to explore all the aspects of the design, culminating in consensus and the design solutions for the project.
The final part of the process is the implementation of the final design. Taking care to make sure that each design element is correctly executed through the construction process is a mainstay for Hadley Design. We understand that there can be multiple design solutions for each element within an overall project and we believe in exploring them through our process in order to integrate humanity, nature and the built environment.
